Pittsford, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team fell on the road to St. John Fisher College on Saturday afternoon, handing the Gators their first loss in Empire 8 play on the year. The Cardinals improve to 2-1 in the Empire 8 and 2-7-1 overall, while Sage is now 1-1 in the league and 3-5-1 overall,
The lone goal of the match came just before the intermission as SJFC's Brian Normal scored on a feed from Glenn Roschetzy at the 44:48 mark. The goal would stand up as the lone score of the match as Sage managed to outshoot the Cardinals 13-12, but could not get a ball past SJFC's keeper Justin Miles.
Miles made three saves and earned the win, while Sage's senior goalie Michael Chiaravalloti (Torrington, CT/Oliver Wolcott) made two saves in the match. He drops to 2-4-1 in net this fall.
Sage returns to action on Saturday, October 6 visiting Utica College for a 7 p.m. road match in league play.
