ALBANY, NY – RSC's sophomore defender Courtney Bush (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) provided the spark to lift the Gators past Eastern Connecticut State University on Sunday night. The lone score of the action gave RSC a 1-0 lead at the break and they held on for the shutout win over the Warriors. RSC improves to 2-1, while ECSU is now 1-2.
Bush converted the feed from senior midfielder Kennedy Jones (Albany, NY/Albany) off the headed in corner kick at the 26:30 mark. The Gators had 11 shots in the action. Jones, now has a team-best six points on two goals with two assists to lead the squad.
Earning her first career shutout, rookie goalie Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) recorded a save in the action and is now 2-1in goal.
RSC is back on the pitch on September 13, hosting SUNY-Poly in a 6 p.m. non-conference match-up at ACP's Athletic Stadium.
