Bio

In her first season at Sage, Jennifer Onwe helped the team return to the playoffs. She played in 25 games with six starts and batted .233 adding a double and a home run in limited time at the plate. Last season, she helped the Gators take the 2014 Skyline Conference regular-season title and the Skyline Tournament runner-up finish. She played in 22 games with 12 starts and had four RBIs with a double. She was 2-2 in stolen bases and scored six runs.

She was a four sport participant at Sleepy Hollow High School and has an extensive list of scholastic accomplishment after participating in soccer, basketball, indoor track and softball.

A team captain in softball, she was an all-league shortstop four straight years. She was a two-time all-section honorable mention pick and a scholar-athlete. She was the starting goalie in soccer and earned back to back all-league selections in both 2011 and 2012. In track, she excelled in the shot put and was both a scholar-athlete and an all-league performer.

A High Honors graduate, she is member of the National Honor Society as well as the Foreign Language and English Honor Societies. She earned the superintendents award for her accomplishments that also include graduating with an advances regents diploma.

She is the daughter of Joseph and Veronica Onwe and is majoring in biology leading to physical therapy at Sage. In her spare time she has published works in both English and Spanish. She is active in Sage’s SAAC and serves as the treasurer of the Biology Club.
