Sophomore forward Ian Nafey (Rock Hill, SC/Wallkill)tallied the RSC marker, while freshman goalkeeper Mateja Milutin (Vojvodina, Novi Sad, Serbia/The Kiski School) (Loss, 5-6-2) and senior goalkeeper Aiden Van Oostveen (Westfield, MA/Westfield) combined to make six saves.
The Wildcats (4-9-1/2-5-0 E8) opened the scoring in the 37th minute when senior forward Dominick Spychalski, standing in the vicinity of the right post, deposited a cross from sophomore midfielder Johnpaul Jerome into the net.
SUNY Poly doubled its advantage in the 57th minute via a penalty kick converted by sophomore midfielder Nazim Harizi.
The Gators appeared to get on the board with 25:31 remaining but were deemed offsides.
RSC finally broke through in the 68th minute. Nafey put home a bouncing free kick from sophomore midfielder Anthony Geis (Newburgh, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) to halve the home squad's deficit.
After scoring an offensive goal for the first time in more than 615 minutes, the Gators pushed hard for an equalizer, but could not earn an E8 point by tying it.
SUNY Poly held advantages of 15-8 on shots and 5-3 on corners.
Looking ahead, RSC (6-6-2/1-5-2 E8) visits Keuka on Saturday afternoon.
