RSC track teams wrap action at 2021 Empire 8 Outdoor Track Championship; A few more school records fall
Pittsford, NY — Russell Sage College men's and women's outdoor and field programs wrapped up competition on Saturday at the 2021 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championship, hosted at St. John Fisher College's Polisseni Track and Field Complex.

The Gator women broke two more school records on Saturday at the meet as rookie Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) broke her own record in the 1,500 meter run. On Saturday, she ran a 5:03.54 to take third and broke her mark from last month of 5:06.79.
Rookie Victoria Johnson (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) picked 8th place in the triple jump with leap of 9.98 meters. She breaks the program's record that had stood at 9.68 set in 2017 by Joanna Tavolaro.
Freshman Emma Cronin (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich Central) finished in sixth place in the 5,000 meter run in 19:20.90, while sophomore Molly Kane (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) was next in 20:49.82 to take 14th. Kane also added an eighth place finish to her day in the 10,000 meter run in 43:34.51.
RSC's women posted a fourth place finish in the 4 x 100 relay in 54.05 behind the work of Johnson, freshman Sarah Masse (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), sophomore Alyssa Fitzgerald (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury), and freshman Jasmine Zollman (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central).
The Gators were fifth in the 4 x 400 relay as rookies Skylar Grybos (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) and Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties), junior Kristin McAlonen (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake), and Masse posted a time of 4:41.81.
In the 200 meter dash Fitzgerald took 12th with a time of 28.54, while Johnson was 15th in 29.10. In the 400 meter run, Grybos picked up 10th in 1:06.39.
In the high jump, senior Sophia Keravich (Barrington, NH/Oyster River) was 10th with a performance of 1.25 meters and junior Giannah French (Cherry Plain, NJ/Berlin) with a performance of 1.20 meters and took 11th place. Rookie Monalissa Carius (Hudson, NY/Hudson) was ninth in the shot put 14th with a throw 9.65 meters. In the discus, rookie Fiona Mulligan (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) took 14th with her throw of 24.25 meters. In the hammer toss, Carius was 14th with a throw of 22.82 meters and Mulligan picked up 15th with a throw of 19.73 meters.

In the men's 5,000 meter run, senior Holden Maynard (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) finished in 13th place with a time of 17:00.99.
Senior Ellis Richardson (Hudson, NY/Hudson) posted a time of 23.11 to finish in fifth in the 200 meter dash, while junior Tyler Mitchell (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) finished 11th place with a time of 24.13.
The Gators picked up a fifth place finish in both the 4 x 100 relay and the 4 x 400 relay. In the 4 x 100, they had a time of 46.14 as Richardson, senior Arnold Burnett (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy), Mitchell, junior Jared Young (Winthrop, NY/Brasher Falls Central) combined. In the 4 x 400 relay, they had a time of 3:39.89 as Young, Burnett, Mitchell and Richardson ran the relay.
Young finished in 12th in the 800 meter run in 2:06.84, while Burnett posted a time of 1:10.09 to take 13th in the 400 meter hurdles. In the javelin, Burnett was 11th with a throw of 32.89 meters and sophomore Michael Cichy (Selkirk, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) was 15th with a throw of 29.26 meters.
