Bio
One of the returning letter winners for Sage this season, Kara Hackett was forced to lead the Gators from the sidelines for senior season. A year ago, she finished with a 6.6 ppg average, while adding 4.0 rpg as well with 12 blocks. She is No. 4 on the Sage career block list, while standing 8th on the career rebound list with 430 boards. She wraps her Sage career with 602 points, 430 rebounds, 51 blocked shots and a 40.4% career field goal percentage. She started 60 of 65 games played in a Sage uniform and has been instrumental in the success of the program over the last four season. As a sophomore, she was named the recipient of the "Game Changer" award after she finished the season with a 9.5 ppg and team-leading 7.8 rpg in 19 starts. She added 17 blocks for the Gators. She is a graduate of Peru Central H.S., where she earned four varsity letters in basketball. She was a team captain as a junior and senior. She earned second team honors as a sophomore and first team all-star honors as a junior. As a senior, she was named the CVAV MVP and finished her scholastic career as a 1,000 point scorer. She was also placed on the All-State 8th Team as a senior. She capped her career as the second all-time leading scorer for her high school program with 1,100 points.
She is majoring in health sciences and minoring in psychology leading to occupational therapy. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Jennifer Hackett.
